Yes, they even have a name… CAPTCHAs… You probably have met them yourself, those twisted, haunted pictures of letters and figures you have to read and type in to make sure you are really human, not some random bot browsing the site and trying to submit anything that might do harm (such as spam). Sometimes they really reach the limits of readability…
